Philips CPAP Recall Answers from MiraVista

Do you have questions about the Philips recall?  Andrea Stark at MiraVista created some excellent resource materials for providers to reference for dealing with the recall:

No doubt you are familiar with Philip’s voluntary recall of nearly 4 million CPAP, BiPAPs and ventilation devices.  I know there is not a lot of detailed guidance on operational responses … even less on billing implications. Not yet, anyway. It’s still early.

The DME MACs jointly issued a series of frequently asked questions on Friday, June 25, 2021. I recorded a free video summarizing the FAQs and clarifying some of the more ambiguous points. My goal is to help you factor these early Medicare positions.  This information will help you develop your action plans to best serve patients with affected equipment, protect against audits, and minimize cash flow disruptions.

In addition to the free FAQ analysis, MiraVista created a page on their website to aggregate news and information DME suppliers might need to make plans and strategic decisions about medical billing for affected patients and equipment. Visit https://www.miravistallc.com/recall.html.
